Maid of the Mist wins National Tour Association gold award
Courier, the official monthly magazine for members of the National Tour Association (NTA), has announced the Maid of the Mist Corporation has won a 2016 Distinguished Dozen gold award in the Sightseeing Cruise Company category.
Tour operators voted to determine gold, silver and bronze awards in 12 categories. Now in its fifth year, the Distinguished Dozen reflects not only the appeal of the winning tour suppliers and destinations, but also operators’ respect for the way their colleagues conduct business.
“We have enjoyed the strong partnership that we have had with our tour operator colleagues at NTA for over 35 years,” said Christopher Glynn, Maid of the Mist president. “We value this relationship and are honored that they have voted the Maid of the Mist as the gold award recipient in the Sightseeing Cruise Company category. We recognize that tour operators always have options in their product offerings and we are proud to have been recognized as their top choice.””
In October, NTA tour operators voted for top Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) and tour supplier partners based on quality of product, level of customer service, value to customers and dedication to relationship building. Gold winners will be featured in the January Courier and announced during Travel Exchange, the association’s annual convention, in Atlanta, Jan. 31–Feb. 4.
“It’s great to be honored by your industry peers, especially when it’s for best practices,” said Penny Whitman, Courier editor in chief. “In this year’s Distinguished Dozen survey, we asked tour operator voters to recognize supplier and DMO members for exceptional customer service, great product and professionalism.”
Maid of the Mist first launched in 1846 and has been continuously operating tours to the base of Niagara Falls for 130 years.
Founded in 1951, NTA is a global association of packaged-travel professionals serving travelers to, from and within North America.
